Analysis on Green Bond Disclosures in Japan 2022
Kamakura Sustainability Institute (KSI.) is delighted to announce the publication of "Analysis on Green Bond Disclosures in Japan 2022", our second study on the state of green bond disclosures in Japan, and "Analysis on Green Bond Disclosures in Japan 2022 [Impact Report]", detailed study on the impact reporting.
Background and objective of the study
As the green bond market is expanding globally, the number and amount of green bonds issued in Japan are also increasing. On the other hand, concerns about the risk of greenwashing is also rising, however, Japan lacks adequate monitoring mechanisms to ensure that the green bonds effectively address environmental problems such as climate change and contribute to meeting the Paris goals.
In this context, KSI., as an independent organization with no conflict of interest with the issuers or other players, conducted a study to analyze green bonds issued in Japan from the perspective of information disclosures with an aim to share insights of the current situation and challenges to be addressed with a wide range of stakeholders.
