KSI publishes a report “Evaluating Transition Plans in Japan’s High Emission Sectors”

After COP26, many companies have declared their commitment to achieving net zero by 2050. To meet this challenging long-term goal, it is essential to have strategies that take into account climate-related risks and opportunities, as well as science-based GHG emission reduction plans. In particular, setting short- and mid-term targets and action plans for the 2030 interim targets are crucial.

Kamakura Sustainability Institute (KSI) is undertaking a study to evaluate the progress of Japanese companies in setting and materializing short- and mid-term targets and plans towards achieving net zero by 2050. The study focuses on high-emission sectors and financial institutions. The results will be published progressively by sector.
